The accident occurred on the northbound side near milepost 123 in Sandyston just before 3 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice.

Two axles from the trailer became dislodged and came to a stop, blocking both north and southbound lanes.

The closure lasted over six hours, and the roadway was reopened shortly before 9:20 a.m., Curry said.

Township officials urged residents to slow down for cyclers, children, and those walking their pets.

“Let’s have a safe Friday everyone,” officials said.
